The York White Rose Run is now a YRRC Event

We are planning on bringing the York White Rose Run 5 miler back in 2018 under new ownership! The board at YRRC refused to let this locally historic event go the way of the dinosuar. The event will be held on September 15th this year so mark your calendar. More news will be coming in March. Join the club for a registration discount!

Winter Series 2017-2018 Wrapping Up

Hope you all are enjoying the YRRC Winter Series so far this year! With only one race to go we'd like to remind you that other great events are coming up such as the Leg Up Farm series and the Spartan Half Marathon. Until then we look forward to seeing you all at the Northeastern 5k on March 3rd! Series awards will be held shortly after the 5k race. Happy running!

Giving Back

Looking for ideas to complete community service volunteer hours or simply wish to do something good by giving back to your community? YRRC has fun opportunities for you and your family! YRRC Board Meetings

YRRC Board Meetings are held at 6:00 pm on the second Monday of odd-numbered months. Unless noted otherwise, our meetings are held in the Loucks Room of the downtown York YMCA (90 N Newberry St, York). All YRRC members are welcome to attend.

Meeting dates for the remainder of 2018 are planned for March 12, May 14, July 9, September 10, and November 12.

Newsletter Submission Dates

Angie Neff is our new Newsletter Editor (email, so all submissions should be sent to her. The deadlines for submitting running-related articles, photographs, or other content for YRRC's quarterly newsletter are:

  • Winter: December 15
  • Spring: March 15
  • Summer: June 15
  • Fall: September 15


YRRC has been faithfully picking up litter alongside Grantley Road every spring and fall since 1994. Our Fall Adopt a Highway clean up will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 7:00am. We will be meeting in the Apple Hill Medical Center parking lot alongside Monument Road. Please wear brightly colored and/or reflective clothing for increased visibility. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Please contact Bob Breighner at to with any questions.
