Runners only at these events, no spectators this year – we will have photographers (thank you Clay and Karen) and you may share those photos with your family.

Runners, race directors, volunteers and timers are all very excited to have LIVE events……….I cannot stress this enough, safety at our events this year comes before setting a PR. Let’s all work together to kick off another amazing YRRC Winter Series!!!

Winter Series kick off

One more day until we kick off the 2020-2021 Winter Series.

Things will look different this year, but we are excited to host the series and to do so as safely as possible. Please check out some changes you can expect:

  • NO race day registration
-MASKS must be worn unless you are on the race course
  • Spectators, we love you, but this year, for the sake of the runners and race volunteers, we are asking you to stay home.
  • Stay by your vehicle until a few minutes prior to race start.
  • Rolling race start times (50 per wave).
  • Do not congregate after the race – slowly and safely leave the race venue as quick as possible.

We would really appreciate everybody’s help and patience with these guidelines. Not only for the safety of those involved, but also as a way to make sure we can continue with the remaining races.

Springettsbury 10k Information

From our fabulous race director:

Hoping to see all of you Saturday at the Springettsbury 10k! Here are the course maps for reference, same as the last couple years.

If you’re looking for an excuse to sit this one out or if you’d just like to lend a helping hand I could still use some volunteers! Please let me know if you’re available. Message yrrcwinterseries@gmail.com if you are interested in helping.

Thank you to our Jacobus race director for working closely with the powers that be to get approval for the runners to cross the bridge on Water Street this year! The 1 mile course will remain the same as it has for the past few years. The 5 mile course will use the one mile course at the beginning before we send you down Water Street. Don’t worry, we were able to keep the hill at the finish!

Members of Christ United Methodist Church will again serve us hot breakfast and beverages afterwards. We appreciate their time and effort to make this happen each year. Please consider making a contribution towards their cause.

Three races remain in the series – online registration is available through February 6th at https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/York/YRRCWinterSeries

The 1 mile event as well as the 10k event will now start/finish near The Grill Club House of Regents’ Glen 1000 Golf Club Drive, York, PA 17403. Parking is available at The Grill with overflow parking at Indian Rock Elementary School (DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS).There is a new course this year as well! We will still run the York County Rail Trail – updated course map can be viewed here (must be logged in to view course map) – https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2851187017

Winter Series race #2 is Sunday December 1st at 1:00PM (1 mile event starts at 12:35)

Parking at the start/finish line is limited. NO VEHICLES ARE TO PARK ON POTOSI ROAD OR CREST ROAD.

We have options:

1 – Carpool – we all know friends and family who will be there!

2 – An additional parking lot is available on Line Road at the bottom of the hill.

Please remember there are runners of all ages and paces on the road. Plan your arrival / departure accordingly – make every effort to arrive prior to the 1 mile event.

Online registration is open through November 28th and will temporarily close until Sunday’s race is complete. Race day registration and bib pick-up are available starting at 11:30 near the start/finish area.

Happy Thankgiving! Looking forward to seeing you Sunday afternoon!
