Happy New Year YRRC members,
This winter has been fairly mild so far—as a result are you able to progress with your running and fitness goals? Don’t forget about the other aspects of running (and in general health related) like nutrition, strength training, sleep, and stress management. I say this because I need the reminder myself! Let us all make positive strides this year!
And now, here is the news…
New YRRC Officers
Elections were completed, and for 2021 there is a new YRRC President and Vice President to fill the role when the prior officers stepped down from them.
Current Insurance Coordinator, Neal Barnaba, was elected President. Additionally, Eric Ferree was elected Vice President. Congratulations to Neal and Eric!
I would like to take time now to say thank you to our officers that stepped down for all of their time and efforts during their term. Thank you to Karen Mitchell (President) and Margaret Moore (Vice President) for taking the lead with so many Club projects and initiatives, as well as with the now Club-owned York White Rose Run.
An email of all Club officers and their roles will be coming your way soon.

One our Club’s races, the York White Rose Run, is getting some publication attention! My link below is to the website RunnersWeb, and for some background on the article, here is some info from York White Rose Run RD Karen Mitchell:
Race Results Weekly is the professional distance running results service providing results from over 2000 events annually, with exclusive coverage from races world wide.
This article covered long-standing races that held their event in 2020 despite the pandemic. **York White Rose Run was included in this article, as the YRRC put on its 43rd running of the YWRR.**
RRW has as longstanding practice of using only one photo per article. Out of all the races covered (out of a subset of all the races that happened in the world in 2020), York White Rose Run was selected to be featured!!!!
And don’t forget to Save the Date: September 25, 2021 for the 44th running!!
