I have been a runner for most of my life. I ran in high school at Northeastern High School, and am the only state medalist in Cross Country in school history. I then ran four years at Shippensburg University. Upon graduation, I trained for and raced my first and only marathon so far, racing a 2:35:05. After that, I slowly got into the role of coaching through volunteering at my high school alma mater. Then, I applied for a paid assistant position at York College in XC and T&F, did not get it, but was able to coach there as a volunteer. After a year, I was offered a paid position and worked with all of the middle distance and distance athletes. I was then able to work my way to head coach of the programs six years ago. I continue to work with the teams on a daily basis and boast some great results from them. The record books, team standings and outlook for the team at York College has been forever changed. Personally, I enjoy training and defying the odds as I get older. My recent accolades include running a 16:13 5k while pushing my daughter, breaking 16:00 in the 5k for the 15th year in a row, and placing 3rd male at the USATF Road 50 Mile Championships in 2018. I currently have just started back up to training for JFK 50 mile race this Fall. I am USATF level 1 certified and USTFCCA Endurance Specialist Certified, as well as 10+ years of coaching at the collegiate level.
