The York Hospital Fete is going through some major changes this year. The new event will focus exclusively on what was known as the "Book Nook" and The Hospital Fete as it had been known will no longer exist. The New event is called the "Book Nook Bonanza". One of the results of this change is that the Run For Wellness that had been associated with the Fete for over 30 years will no longer be at the York Fairgrounds. The run will now be held in conjunction with another event associated with WellSpan Health called the Double Creek Bike Tour.

Now that the run is no longer confined to the fairground we are free to do some new and exciting things. The biggest change is that we will now have a half marathon (13.1 miles) in addition to the 5k. The run and bike tour will share the Double Creek name and leverage each others planning and support teams to build two fantastic events in one.

The Double Creek Half Marathon and 5k is still the last leg in the Hanover Toyota Cup Race Series. The other races are the Gettysburg Eatem Up 5k & 1mile, The Brethren Home Race For The Ages 5k & 1mile, The Gene Gladfelter Memorial Mile and The Double Creek Half Marathon and 5K. The Hanover Toyota Cup Race Series is growing this year with the addition of the Gene Gladfelter Memorial Mile in Shiloh. Please visit http://www.hanovertoyota.com/ for more info on the race series. The change to the Double Creek marks an increase in focus for the run. We will have a significant increase in budget and amenities to offer to the runners from what was available at the Fete Run.
