The team finished 2nd in their first attempt at this type of competition and qualified to go to the National event in Orlando, Fl December 2, 2006. 60 + girls were running in this race of 13 year old girls. The course was a muddy, and sloppy 4000 meters.

Nationals were in Orlando, Florida on December 2nd. Six girls went. The YRRC team took 7th place out of 15 teams.
